WSD is excited to introduce Mr. Jonah Watkins who will be teaching high school science this year! Mr. Watkins graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a degree in Emergency Management with plans to provide disaster recovery and relief. He decided a career in education would be a great fit after marrying his wife, Dylan and having his daughter, Charlie. WHS had two students, Anna Ford and Theresa English, qualify to compete at The National Beta Convention in Savannah, GA. Anna was able to attend and represent WHS, but Theresa had committed to basic training. We are very proud of both of them for qualifying for nationals! Kudos to Beta sponsor, Mrs. Ford, for helping fund raise and also chaperoning. We also appreciate those who sponsored their attendance. Emma Ashlock and Seth Rees are attending the 2024 HOBY Leadership Seminar at SAU where sophomore students build their leadership potential. It may be summer but Wonderview students are expanding their learning opportunities! Jadyn Askins was accepted to the UAMS College of Pharmacy three day summer camp. Jadyn is considering a Pharm D degree and this camp gives her the opportunity to shadow pharmacy professors, attend lectures, participate in compounding labs and meet like-minded juniors, seniors and entering college freshman from around the state. #watchusgrow #traditionofexcellence
Parents - Please take advantage of the summer break and make any appointments needed for physicals or vaccinations. Students entering Kindergarten will need their kindergarten physical and vaccines. Students turning 11 and 16 will need updated vaccines. Students entering 7th grade will need their Meningococcal vaccine if they did not get it with their 11 year-old shots.
